APARTMENT

Step 1

Get all the drawings/blueprints of Your house/building.
Where to get the blueprints?

  • Search your local building department or archives.
  • Contact the original architect or builder.
  • Find the original owner.
  • Ask your neighbors.

Step 2

  1. Mark Your apartment.
  2. Mark the wall/walls that you wish to investigate/inspect if they are load-bearing or not. See the picture/example below:

Step 3

Mark which floor Your apartment is on or which floor of Your house on a facade/section-drawing. See the picture/example below:

Step 4 (optional)

  • Take pictures of the wall in question from different angles.
  • You may need to peek into the attic to check on the direction of the joists, take pictures there. You can do this without removing drywall or other invasive measures. If you already have removed drywall or made any other invasive measure then send us these pictures as well.
  • Measure the wall/walls in question, length/width/height.
